Media sources

I’m always looking for new media sources to give me a clear picture of what’s happening in our country. This evolving list of sources includes journalists and hosts who I have found to be reliable amidst scrutiny and research. I also read articles and watch coverage from a range of traditional news sources, comparing their viewpoints and biases.

Their factual, well-researched, dispassionate look at the day’s events leaves me with the information I need, minus biased opinion.

A political historian who uses facts and history to put the news in context. She has a definite point of view but backs everything up with citations and references.

I listen to a few of the Bulwark podcasts and look to them for detailed information about political happenings as they unfold from a conservative perspective. Founded by a group of Never Trump former Republicans, this group is fighting hard to inform the public about the dangers of fascism and the damage being done to our democracy by this administration. Given their clear anti-Trump agenda, I often do follow-up research but find them to be generally reliable and any mistakes are made in good faith. *language warning*

Democrat former speech writers and advisers, this group of podcast hosts read everything and come at the news of the day with thoughtful discussion. I love that they give credit to Republicans when it’s due and correct themselves later if they get something wrong. Again, I do follow-up research because they have a strong left-leaning agenda. But I have come to trust them. *language warning*

High quality journalism and the willingness to speak truth to power. Super important reporting about the security lapses in the Trump White House.

Consistent and thorough reporting on many topics related to the incompetence of the Trump administration. They tend to use solid journalistic practices.
